Uns erreichte aus den USA ein Aufruf, welchen wir schwer einschätzen können, aber dennoch unseren Tausenden Lesern, viele davon pazifistisch ausgerichtet, nicht vorenthalten möchten. Konkret geht es um ein eingebliches umfangreiches Zensorenprogramm, welches die USA im Rahmen ihres Trans-Pacific Partnership-Programms mit asiatischen Staaten planten.
Der Aufruf „Stop the Secrecy before it’s too late“ wird angeblich – glaubt man dem Footer der Homepage, von welchem der Aufruf ausgeht – von zahlreichen NGOs getragen. Konkret geht es darum, dass die Schreiber des Aufrufs „Stop the Secrecy before it’s too late“ der US-Regierung um Präsident Barack Obama (Demokraten) unterstellen, man würde an einer weltweiten Internet-Zensur arbeiten:
Um es vorwegzunehmen: Wir haben davon zum ersten Mal gehört, möchten allerdings seit den dramatischen Enthüllungen des Edward Snowden rund um die Dauer-Stasispionage der Amerikaner auch gegen Millionen deutsche Bürger, dieses nicht ausschließen.
Deshalb haben wir uns entschlossen, ausnahmsweise einen Aufruf zu veröffentlichen, den wir uns nicht in der Lage sehen, gegenzuprüfen. Gleichzeitig möchten wir unsere Leser bitten: Wer Näheres zu dem angeblichen Internet-Zensur-System der USA unseren Lesern mitteilen kann, sollte bitte einen Kommentar hinterlassen und das System erklären.
Allerdings bitten wir hier keine Verschwörungstheorien zu verbreiten, sondern möglichst Fakten. Zudem geben wir zu Bedenken, dass Geldspenden an die angebliche NGO überdacht werden sollten, solange auch wir keinen Überblick haben, ob dem Aufruf zu trauen ist. Das gilt auch für die Herausgabe eigener Email-Adressen. Zur Not eine Wegwerf-Email-Adresse verwenden.
